Born in 1983 in Buenos Aires, Cantor Sheila Nesis started her path as a Shlicha Tzibur at a very early age. Inspired and trained by Rabbi Sergio Bergman and Fundacion Judaica, she became one of the cantors of Temple Emanu-El. She was then the Cantor of Temple NCI-Emanu-El in Belgrano. In her last years in Argentina, prior to her arrival to New York in 2007, she was the Cantor of C.I.R.A, also known as “Temple Libertad”, the Main Sinagogue in Argentina.

She has worked with the World Union for Progressive Judaism helping the Jewish and non Jewish community that was in need during the years of the economic crisis in Buenos Aires.

She is also a last year student for the philosophy program in U.B.A, Universidad de Buenos Aires where she will be majoring in Philosophy at the end of 2010. She sings tango, but can't dance it. Yet, she would like to learn.
