Nancy-Ellen moved to New York City in 1972 from Cincinnati, Ohio. Born in New Jersey, Nancy-Ellen has been an educator for the entirety of her adult life., teaching both in New Jersey and Ohio before coming to New York. She taught first and second graders before moving into Early Childhood Education, where she specialized in three year olds. In 1983 Nancy-Ellen received her Masters in early Childhood Education, and in 1988 became an administrator in Early Childhood Education. She is now beginning her 11th year as the Director of the ECLC at Temple Israel.
Nancy-Ellen has one daughter, Nicole, who resides in New York City. She enjoys spending time with her granddaughters Lila, age 2.7 and newborn Cecelia. In her free time, Nancy-Ellen enjoys traveling, reading and is an avid knitter, and participates in the Knitzvah Circle Group at Temple Israel.
